Another Chance to Win!
Here is her post...
Beginning on June 19th our beloved Pope Benedict declared this the Year of the Priest. The year will conclude on June 19th 2010 with an international gathering of priests in Rome.
This is a wonderful opportunity for parents to educate their children about the various duties of our holy priests as well as encouraging vocations among our sons.
Toward that end one of my favorite Liturgical Year resources Lapbooks for Catholics has put together a Faith Folder for The Year of the Priest. Lindy Meyer is the incredibly talented and creative mother of six children and creates these folders so that we can have a fun hands-on activity to increase our children's knowledge and love of their faith.
Lindy is also generous. She is going to let me give away on of her lovely Year of the Priest Faith Folders to one of my readers. So leave me a comment in this post and I'll pick a lucky winner on Sunday. Spread the word by posting the contest on your blog and linking back here and I'll enter your name twice. I'm that nice.
In the meantime go cruise around Lindy's site and see all of the lovely products she's created. Since many of us are planning next year's school work now is a good time to see what fun resources are available to help make the school year memorable for the children. The prices are reasonable and the products are lovely.
Comments will be closed by noon on Sunday.
Have a blessed day.

Win a Free Catholic Lapbook for the Year of the Priest!
In honor of the Year of the Priest, Lindy Meyer (an amazingly creative mother of 6!) over at Faith Folders for Catholics (Lapbooks With the Catholic Family & Classroom in Mind), has put together a lovely new Faith Folder: The Year of the Priest.
This Faith Folder is in recognition of the Year of the Priest as declared by Pope Benedict XVI from June 19, 2009 to June 19, 2010. Topics covered include facts about the Year of the Priest, St. John Vianney, discernment, vocations and lots of facts and information about the priesthood.
This Faith Folder features two inserted pages with lots of information, activities and thought provoking material. There are 26 mini-books included with this Faith Folder.
Several options are included for the various books. The activities are easily adapted for a variety of age levels. The Faith Folder is also easily adaptable to allow for personalization and creative style.
All of Lindy's Faith Folders are available to download as a pdf file for only $7.99 each. Right now she is also offering a Summer Deal, from June 26th to August 9th, where you can get a Faith Folder for free with the purchase of four others! (Enter the coupon code "5for4" at checkout.)
I am looking forward to trying their Advent and Lent lap books this year, having used parts of their Works of Mercy folder a few months ago!
In addition, Lindy has kindly offered a FREE COPY of the The Year of the Priest Faith Folder to one lucky visitor!
For your chance to win, just leave a comment on this post and if you mention this give-away on your blog Jessica will enter you twice! The drawing will close at noon on Saturday, July 4th, and she'll announce the winner shortly after. Good luck!

Book Discussion Here!
This manual to growing in holiness through the wisdom of seven doctors of the Church - St. Teresa of Avila, St. John of the Cross, St. Catherine of Siena, St. Bernard of Clairvaux, St. Francis de Sales, St. Augustine, and St. Therese of Lisieux - (I am told) is the perfect book for Adoration and/or meditation. Several reviewers indicate it is very easy to read with wonderful quotations from the writings of these great saints. Spending time with these holy men and women will be such a joy this summer!
Here’s what people are saying about this modern classic on the spiritual life:
• “An inspiring work brimming with insight and practical help for people at every stage of the spiritual journey.” Fr. Peter Ryan, S.J.
• “I am deeply moved by this work...an extraordinary gift to the Church.” Fr. John Horn, S.J.
• “This is a book to keep at your place of prayer for years to come...reading and rereading will be a source of powerful inspiration for all those on the spiritual journey.” Fr. Benedict Groeschel, C.F.R.
Let me be completely honest with you, this book is thick - almost 500 pages. But, our goal is going to be to read an average of 7 pages a day from July 5 through September 2 and gather here twice a week to discuss what we have read. Let's see...three pages with my morning prayer, two pages during naptime, two pages at bedtime, and catch-up at my weekly Holy Hour...that's do-able, right?
I will guarantee you that there will be at least once, maybe several times that I will be behind on my reading. Life happens, especially with children. So, it is okay if you are worried about getting behind or not staying on schedule. Please do not let that keep you from trying! Most of the time, you will still be able to intelligently contribute to our discussion even if you have not read the material for the day.
So, if you think you might participate, please leave a comment on this post to let me know you are interested! The discussion schedule is below.
These are the days I plan to post a reflection on the reading and questions for us to discuss. So, ideally, we are finishing the reading the day before these dates.
